Our prayers may have been answered! The days of relentlessly replaying “Leave The Door Open” might cease this Friday. Silk Sonic, Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars’ newly formed soul duo, is inviting us all to “Summertime Jam” — and hopefully its the release of their follow-up record.

On Wednesday, .Paak announced via Twitter that Silk Sonic will be delivering some sort of sonic surprise to fans this Friday. The 35-year-old posted a picture of an old-school red car with the message “You’ve Been Invited To Silk Sonic’s Summertime Jam This Friday” atop of the image. The caption read: “*sparkle emoji* *roller skate emoji*” How’s that for a host of clues?

We don’t know what exactly “Summertime Jam” is. A virtual concert? The debut party for their An Evening With Silk Sonic project? Prayerfully, for the sake of our anticipation, the unclear event will bring us a new single. The duo, which converges 1970s soul and groove with a contemporary R&B sound, released their first single in March. The track skyrocketed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts and is currently at No. 12. Reveling in their heyday, Mars and .Paak soon became a must-see performance with sets at the Grammys, iHeartRadio Music Awards and BET Awards. At the latter, the group hinted at an imminent arrival but new music never materialized.

According to Mars, Silk Sonic was the manifestation of pure organic energy. After finally meeting, the pair realized their shared love for similar music and later decided to join forces after many studio jam sessions. “It felt like why you fall in love with music in the first place. And jamming with your buddy,” Mars said of the group’s inception. “There’s no plan, just working out the parts and trying to excite each other. That’s why this wouldn’t happen if it didn’t make sense and it didn’t feel natural and organic. This was a series of events that led us to ‘Man, why don’t we just do it?'”
