Trust Amy Schumer to share her no-filter approach to anti-aging. The 40-year-old comedian and actress took to Instagram to declare she’s sworn off facial fillers — a popular cosmetic treatment where dermatologists inject ingredients like hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxyapatite, and sometimes your own fat into the face to iron out wrinkles, plump up the skin and help boost the natural production of collagen.

While that might sound like the perfect solution to rewinding the clock, the reality is cosmetic fillers can be an expensive business, they wear off (lasting anywhere from 6 – 12 months) and according to Schumer, you can end up looking like a fantastical version of yourself. And not in a good way.

“I tried getting fillers,” Schumer captioned her recent Instagram selfie taken during her visit to New York Dermatologist Dr. Jodi LoGerfo who helped her deflate.  “Turns out I was already full. Thank God you can dissolve them I looked like #maleficent.”
