This week Maroon 5 has been trending for all the wrong reasons. Specifically Adam Levine who has been accused of cheating on his wife Behati Prinsloo — who recently announced she was expecting her third child — and then allegedly DM’d his mistress to ask if he could name the baby after her. On Tuesday, the musician broke his silence on the matter and issued a statement via Instagram stories admitting that he did “cross the line” during one period of his life.
“A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear the air. I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life,” Levine wrote on social media. “In certain instances it became inappropriate; I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.”
He continued, “My wife and my family is all I care about in this world,” he continued. “To be this naïve and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it. And we will get through it together.”
23-year-old Instagram model Sumner Stroh took to TikTok this week to share a series of DMs accusing the “Sugar” singer of cheating when she was “young and naive.” Stroh later told Page Six that the affair took place last year. During her TikTok confession, which as seen more than 1.3 million likes to date, she noted that she did not want to recklessly share the DMs but a friend had “attempted to sell” them “to a tabloid.” “So here I am.”
As Levine responded to the claims, Stroh returned to social media with a cryptic message writing, “Someone get this man a dictionary.”
