Beloved actor Leslie Jordan died on Oct. 24, 2022 at age 67, according to multiple outlets. TMZ was the first to announce the news and reports that Jordan crashed his car in Hollywood after suffering a medical emergency.

The actor and comedian currently stars in the Fox sitcom Call Me Kat. He recently worked on the American Horror Story franchise on three different iterations, and the Fox show Cool Kids from 2018-2019.

He was well known for his role as Beverly Leslie in the ’90s hit, Will & Grace, and reprised his character in the show’s 2017 reboot, which featured more memorable one-liners and cutting dialogue between his character and his co-star Megan Mullally. He won a Primetime Emmy for outstanding guest actor in a comedy series for his role as Beverly Leslie in 2006.

Recently, Jordan became even more beloved amid the COVID-19 pandemic thanks to his hilarious social media videos that went viral during lockdown, making the world smile during dark times.

Jordan was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and studied theater at the University of Tennessee. He booked many projects after graduating and moving to Los Angeles, all while battling addiction (he’s since been sober for 22 years, according to an interview with People). Over the years, he held parts in Murphy Brown, RebaBoston Legal, Ugly Betty among many others.

He was an accomplished stage actor with his best-known role in Sordid Lives, which he reprised in a film adaptation, and turned his attention to music in recent years, releasing a gospel music album, Company’s Comin’ in 2021.
