As the fashion world both mourns and reflects on Met Galas past, Kylie Jenner has taken to Instagram to share her favorite Met Gala looks from years gone by.

Like a trip down Met memory lane, there was her first Met with Balmain in 2016 in silvery crystal-encrusted whole body sheath.

Then 2017 was a date with Donatella Versace, who dressed her in a nude corset-cum-bodysuit with sheer cobweb overlay embellished with rose gold jewels. This was also the infamous blonde bob reveal – “Donatella asked I go blonde last minute and we made it happen. I loved this look.”

But it was 2018 – three months after she gave birth to daughter Stormi – that has gleaned all new details of that first Monday in May. Wearing a strapless black Alexander Wang gown with cut-out bodice, velvet train and exposed silver zipper, Kylie Jenner has revealed the zipper was in fact not meant to be there at all, the result of ripped dress and makeshift Met moment. “Fun fact: this dress wasn’t supposed to have a zipper but it ripped as I was squeezing into it so we added it on the way out the door…but it worked out I loved it,” she wrote on Instagram. Indeed, the silver hardware added a shiny touch to the all-black ensemble, as too the glittering ALEXANDER WANG stamped hosiery.

She also revealed some salacious Met Gala goss about 2019’s feathered Versace gown, which she matched, more or less, with sister Kendall Jenner. “Kendall’s original sketches were pink and I realllyyy wanted her outfit to be pink but she wanted green or orange,” she admitted. “The orange looked fire in the end.”

Kylie also loved her 2019 after party look “so much” it almost ended up the main dress of the evening. “I loved this look so much I was very close to wearing it on the carpet.” Ah, so many glorious Met tidbits, thank you Kylie Jenner for the memories.
