It has become a real tradition, each year in September, Apple organizes its famous Keynote event to unveil its latest innovations, including its new smartphones. A lot has occurred since that fateful day on January 9, 2007, when Steve Jobs introduced the very first iPhone, calling it a “revolutionary mobile phone” modestly. Sixteen years later, here we are at the iPhone 15, even more potent and innovative than its predecessors. Unveiled on September 12, 2023, by Tim Cook and on sale since September 22, it’s unsurprising that Apple’s latest gem has more than one reason to entice us. Here are five reasons that might make you want to get it.

Why should you go for the iPhone 15?

The iPhone 15 comes in pink (and many other cool colors)

We dreamed about it, and Apple has made it, the very first bubblegum pink iPhone. It may be a small detail to you, but for us, it means a lot. Now there’s no need to hunt down flashy cases to brighten up your iPhone. In addition to classic black, the iPhone 15 comes in four pastel and milky hues including almond green, baby blue, vanilla yellow, and candy pink. These soft and elegant colors are reflected in both the aerospace-grade aluminum frame outlining the phone and the polished and tinted glass back with an enjoyable textured matte finish.

The iPhone 15 charges with a USB-C cable

It has not happened in 10 years: Apple changed smartphone recharging system. Gone is the lightning cable; due to the European Union’s decision to impose a universal charger for small electronic devices by fall 2024, the new generation iPhones are now USB-C compatible. This also implies that your phone can be recharged with the same USB-C cable used for charging your Macbook or your iPad. Also, in case of a battery issue, no need to bother your friends to search for the sacred “iPhone cable”, any USB-C cable will do the trick.

The iPhone 15 is equipped with Dynamic Island

It’s not really a novelty for those who were already proud owners of the iPhone 14 Pro, but for everyone else, the iPhone 15 now also features Dynamic Island, a quite handy information bubble displayed at the very top of the screen, with a sole purpose to assist you. It, for example, lets you see the music track playing at a glance, switch to the next one without needing to go into the app. It also provides real-time status of your dinner order, match results, an ongoing taxi trip, flight or train schedules, or even check your headphones’ battery level. Though it may seem trivial, this feature is very practical.

The iPhone 15 is equipped with an even more powerful camera

Nowadays, we use our smartphones nearly as much for calling and sending messages as for taking amazing photos. The iPhone 15, being a worthy competitor for a professional DSLR, pushes the boundaries of photo-taking quality. The primary camera enters the era of super-high resolution and steps up to 48 MP, from 12 MP on the iPhone 14. This change makes a huge difference, allowing taking much grander and more detailed images with four times the resolution. You can choose between three levels of optical zoom quality, including the close-ups with the 2x telephoto lens, equivalent to a third lens. The Wide Mode remains unchanged, but the Portrait Mode is improved and can be retrospectively added to any photo. The TrueDepth front camera automatically focuses on you and your close ones resulting in incredibly clear selfies and calls.

Its Battery Lasts All Day

Arguably, one of the vital features a modern smartphone should possess is excellent battery life. The iPhone 15’s battery puts up a good show lasting an entire day without failing you, with up to 20 hours of video playback.

On the pricing side, the iPhone 15 starts at $969 for the 128 GB version and goes up to $1,349 for the 512 GB version. That’s fifty bucks less than the starting price of the iPhone 14, which was sold for $1,019 at its launch in 2022.
