Cover star Keke Palmer, known as BIG BOSS on Instagram, continues to inspire us with her authentic, yet hysterical, words of wisdom. Whether she is in the makeup chair or hiking Runyon Canyon, you can expect her to be honest anytime, anywhere. Literally, anywhere. Always keeping it real, the 27yearold doesn’t hold back how she feels, no matter the subject, timing, or place.

1. A few weeks ago, Palmer paused from her busy day to remind her Instagram fans that we are capable of reaching our full potential. “The sooner you realize that you are deserving of all of the things you want, all the things that you have, that you are magnificent, that you are amazing, that you are made from love, that you are deserving of good things.. the sooner that you will be able to see the beauty that really resides inside of you,” she said.

2. Earlier this year while on a hike at Runyon Canyon with her friend, Lenoria Addison, Palmer shared that health in 2021 has become a huge focus for her. “It’s scary but also empowering to know that you yourself can make the difference,” she said. Since quarantine, she has been living in Los Angeles.

3. On a lighter (nevertheless important) note, Palmer confessed her frustration with Postmates earlier this week. Even though she was hoping for a clean slate with the delivery service in 2021, five years after disputing a fraudulent charge, Palmer still can’t order through the app. Postmates, help a girl out!

4. At the end of 2020, the cover star opened up about her struggles with acne on Instagram. However, she doesn’t let that stop her. Palmer isn’t afraid to show herself to the world, and we shouldn’t be either, she says. “To all the people struggling with this please know you’re not alone… MY ACNE AIN’T NEVER STOPPED ME. But we don’t have to accept this. Now I can really help KEKE! And I love her so it’s ON.”

5. In conversation with Grazia’s Culture Editor, Channing Hargrove, Palmer explains that habits are linked to a truly authentic life. “Habits can help you recognize the harmful stories that you tell yourself without realizing it,” she said. “That’s number one,” she continued, when it comes to creating an authentically joyful life.” Read the rest of the cover story with Palmer [here].
