In a scene that could be straight out of one of their respective early 2000s’ rom-coms, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are finally married, tying the knot in a weekend-long celebration in Georgia with the bride wearing a dress by Ralph Lauren.
The happy couple were surrounded by friends and family, including Affleck and ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s children Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, Samuel, 10, and Lopez and her ex-husband Marc Anthony’s twins, Max and Emme, 14.
But notably, absent was Affleck’s younger brother, actor Casey Affleck.
On the day of the nuptials, paparazzi photographed Affleck on a coffee run in LA — nowhere near the rest of his family, who were in Georgia for Bennifer’s (second) big day. When asked by one of the photographers why he wasn’t at his brother’s wedding, he responded with a brief sentence that sounded like, “I have other things,” as seen in a video posted by Page Six and TMZ.
A source told People the actor skipped the celebrations due to “family, parental obligations at home.” He has two sons, Indiana, 18, and Atticus, 14, who he shares with his ex-wife, Summer Phoenix.
Thankfully, it appears there’s no drama beyond that: following the wedding, the youngest Affleck brother took to Instagram to share a throwback photo of himself with his brother and new sister-in-law the first time they dated back in the early 2000s.
“Good things are worth waiting for,” he captioned the photo. “Here is to twists and turns, new beginnings, and finding new reservoirs of old love.”
He added, “Welcome to the family. Get ready for some real dysfunction! Kidding. I am kidding. Jen, you are a gem. We love you so much!!! ❤️”
