The Cannes Film Festival is one of the most exclusive — and glam — events of the year. Celebrities all dress to the nines in couture and sparkling jewels to celebrate the most anticipated new film releases of the year. Of course, perfect glam and hair is also a must. While we’ve covered the best red carpet fashions and off-duty street style outfits, we’re rounding up a few must-see beauty looks — and sharing how you can recreate them yourself.
Celebrity stylist Mitchell Cantrell was the pro behind Lori Harvey‘s jaw-dropping updo, which she sported during the opening ceremony of the festival. According to Cantrell, “Lori Harvey and I wanted a chic up-style that was elegant and would not overpower the dress.”
To achieve that, only three products were needed, Ouidad’s Clear Control Pomade, the Advanced Climate Control Frizz Fighting Touch-Up Balm and the Advance Climate Control Featherlight Touch-Up Gel Cream.
He started by flat-ironing Harvey’s hair and layered Ouidad’s Clear Control Pomade throughout before putting it in a low ponytail. Next, to tame fly-aways, protect from humidity and add shine, he applied the Advanced Climate Control Frizz Fighting Touch-Up Balm on top of the low pony. Then, he coated extensions with Advance Climate Control Featherlight Touch-Up Gel Cream for a “frizz-free barrier” and attached them to Harvey’s pony, and swept everything into the bun.
For actress Alicia Vikander’s appearance during the festival, makeup artist Kelly Cornwall used Chantecaille products to get Vikander glam for both day and nighttime events. “I was inspired by being on the French Riviera. Alicia’s beautiful structural outfit inspired this look to be fresh and young,” Cornwall said. “When I saw the dress, I immediately thought of a mermaid dripping in bronze, emerging out of the sea.” Cornwall reached for Chantecaille’s new summer collection to get the “bronze-goddess look.”
For Jasmine Tookes and Josephine Skriver, they shined like a diamond on the carpet thanks to products from Rihanna’s skincare line, Fenty Beauty. Makeup pro Naïma Bremer created a radiant glow for her clients with Fenty Skin Fat Water and Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen.
