In honor of Mother’s Day this year, Jennifer Lopez decided to pull out a video from the archives to pay homage to mothers everywhere. The throwback video features Lopez and Ben Affleck sitting courtside at a basketball game in May 2003, where the then-engaged couple wish their mothers a Happy Mother’s Day on camera.
Posting the clip to Instagram, the Marry Me actress captioned her post, “Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommy’s out there!!!💕”
Attending the Los Angeles Lakers v. San Antonio Spurs playoff NBA game, Lopez and Affleck shoutout their moms, gleefully yelling, “Happy Mother’s Day, we love you!” The commentator then proceeded to announce, “Hollywood’s hottest couple, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez.”
The pair first got engaged in November 2002, before calling it quits in 2004. Affleck later married actress Jennifer Garner, and share three kids together. Lopez married Marc Anthony and share twins Max and Emme. In 2021, both Affleck and Lopez rekindled their romance after ending their most recent relationships with Ana de Armas and Alex Rodriguez, respectively. They went Instagram official in July and were engaged in September 2021.
Fans have been loving that “Bennifer” is back, and recently compared their smooch at the Staples Center in 2003 to one shared at the Boston Celtics vs. LA Lakers game in December, which brought out a case of early aughts déjà vu.
