Last night, performers and tastemakers came together in support of the arts at the 2021 Guggenheim International Gala. Sponsored by French fashion house Dior, a slew of attendees adorned the ethereal works of Maria Grazia Chiuri, including the night’s shining star Lorde. Hosted by New York’s Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the annual fundraising event saw the “Solar Power” singer perform in a shimmering gold double-breasted suit by the sponsored designer.

Earlier in the evening, the musician took to the red carpet in an accordion pleated, burnt orange strapless gown, complete with a cinched belted waist. Most notably, Lorde’s long brunette tresses were parted down the middle and synchronously wrapped around her neck like a scarf.

While certainly the star of the night, Lorde was not the only guest to turn heads in Dior. Actresses Jurnee Smollett, Maya Hawke, and Kat Graham, as well as influencers Leandra Medine and Camila Coelho all donned elegantly whimsical looks from the Parisian label.

Honoring the museum’s Chair Emeritus of the Board of Trustees William L. Mack and his wife Phyllis, the gala also celebrated four featured artists this year- Etel Adnan, Jennie C. Jones, Cecilia Vicuña, and Gillian Wearing. To commemorate the great impact of the Guggenheim, “this year’s gala will acknowledge individuals who are committed to creativity, inspire our past, and invigorate our future,” as the formidable institution raises funds for educational programs and their internationally renowned exhibitions.
