Gucci isn’t the only one having a milestone anniversary this year. Microsoft is also celebrating its 20th anniversary and for two iconic brands celebrating another year isn’t something taken lightly — as seen from Gucci’s many fêtes over the year. Now the two have come together for a joint celebration with a very special (and expensive) product that’ll have both gaming and fashion fans on the edge of their seats.
Microsoft and Gucci come together to introduce Xbox by Gucci Series X consoles. The limited-edition consoles (only 100 made) also come with matching controllers feature Gucci’s iconic heritage logo. The console itself features a laser-cut monogram motif of the famous GG pattern that represents both the brand founder, Guccio Gucci’s initials, and the famous gaming phrase Good Game. The controller has blue and red stripes inspired by the brand’s House Web design. The entire set comes inside a novelty carrying case with stripes matching the controllers.
The collaboration isn’t as unexpected as you may think. The gaming world has proven to show interest in fashion, and it seems Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele shares that same love for gaming. The precious Xbox by Gucci Series X consoles follow after the luxury Italian house partnered with 100 Thieves on a limited edition collection. Oh, and how could we forget the digital Gucci Bag that sold for over $4000 on the gaming platform Roblox.
Now the question we’ve all been waiting for is, “How much is it?” The “Xbox by Gucci” gaming set retails for 10,000, but hey, it comes with a free Xbox Game Pass subscription — worth it?
