Megan Fox is not done filling up your social media feed this week. Fresh from her instantly iconic turn in a transparent Mugler dress on the MTV Video Music Awards last night, Fox fronted up to the Met Gala in a dazzling red Dundas gown.
The daring dress – which featured flesh-baring lace-up details across the torso and bust with an open back – was complemented with an XXL wrapped braid that reached all the way to Fox’s waist.
Hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimons also added heavy blunt Bettie Page bangs to Fox’s pulled-back style, lending a rockabilly edge to her glamorous look.
Fox’s makeup followed a similar Old Hollywood air, with makeup artist Ash K Holm applying a flawless lip in matching crimson hue, thick lashes and full, groomed arches, amped up with a classic black cat-eye flick of eyeliner.
On the red carpet, Fox discussed the creation of the look, explaining that it adds to the “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” theme because “it’s worn by an American girl”. She revealed that the Dundas dress was painstakingly hand-embellished “one bead at a time”.
She also spoke of her status as a sex symbol, saying that being considered sexy is something that she has wholeheartedly embraced throughout her career. “A woman who knows how to weaponise her beauty… what’s more dangerous than that?” said the Jennifer’s Body star.
It seems the red carpet was not ready for Megan this week.
