Lizzo remains the queen of hair
accoutrements, as she has so vividly demonstrated via her latest
Instagram post. Wearing multi-hued Bantu knots with a dazzling logo
barrette – that’s positioned, of course, like the crown it should
be – the singer was snapped in full glam, with a shimmering bronze
smokey eye, apricot blush and glossy lips to boot.
Standing in full sunlight added extra sparkle to Lizzo’s Gucci clip
and her glowing complexion, with the former proving once and for
all that the hair barrette trend isn’t going anywhere – as Hailey Bieber can also attest.
From 90s bobby pins to claw clips and headbands, hair accessories
remain a popular style choice for adding extra polish to a
look.
The logo barrette has been a particularly hot commodity, as
decorated hair adornments from the likes of Chanel, Fendi and Prada
have been seen all over Instagram for several seasons. While there
does seem to have been a movement towards more minimal,
90s-inspired clips of late, such a fire look from Lizzo is surely
enough to secure the designer hair accessory’s place in pop culture
for at least another season.
While she might be confidently serving looks in the Instagram
post, Lizzo soon uploaded another set of images of her colorful
ensemble, in response to an unwelcome comment on her previous post.
“Lizzo really fine AF,” the comment in question read, with the user
adding, “And if/when she decides to slim down, she’ll be sh––ing on
all of y’all harder than she does now.”
Needless to say, Lizzo did not find the backhanded comment to be
a compliment, replying on her new post, “And here’s the body…ain’t
sh— slimmin’ down over here sweetie – pockets fat, p––y
fatter.”
And that’s on body positivity, thank you. Now where did we leave
our barrettes?
