SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Daniel Avakian‘s energized sartorial efforts at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week were coupled with fittingly joyful beauty looks, including high-octane eye makeup and perfectly textured, natural-looking locks.
“The hair look for Daniel Avakian is all about embracing the individual,” says Redken Australia’s Hair Director Diane Gorgievski, who led the hair for Avakian’s show. “It showcases an incredible cast of individuals, with no hair the same. Cool haircuts and shape load runway with an incredible lived-in feel and eclectic diversity.”
First the hair was prepped with Redken’s Shades EQ Gloss Conditioning Color and Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo and Conditioner. Next stylists added a spritz Fashion Waves 07 on dry hair to accentuate its natural wave and texture, diffusing it into the hair on a low speed and heat.
From there the team created subtle S bend waves with a flat iron (GRAZIA loves ghd’s platinum+ hair straightener in ombre chrome, $370) and secured the shape with Redken’s Fashion Work 12 for hold. Hair was then gently brushed out to promote texture, with a light application of Shine Flash to create body and movement in the styles.
The makeup looks, directed by legendary local makeup artist Pinky, ran the gamut of visually explosive eye makeup, from paintbox neon bright eyeshadow to elegantly extended floating liner above the crease of the eyelid, tucked just beneath the brow bone.
Brows were groomed and neat while the skin was left fresh and natural with glossy lips and a vibrant pout placed on every other model, for a memorable look that reflected our collective elation about IRL runways again.
