Masks Aren’t Going Anywhere So Might As Well Match Them To Your Outfits
You're less likely to forget your mask when it's part of your outfit.
Of all the events that occur during award season, none brings out the outrageous, spectacular, and at times peculiar fashion like the Grammys. And last night’s show didn’t disappoint. Despite the restrictions that COVID presented, nominee’s and presenters showed up and certainly showed out for the biggest night in music.
Like every other award show since mid-March 2020, the Grammys operated under strict guidelines to keep everyone safe. Attendees were socially distant and several wore masks. In fact, the Grammys might’ve had the most celebrities wearing masks at an award show that we’ve seen this year. But in typical Grammy fashion, the face coverings donned by music’s elite were as attention grabbing as the talent wearing them.
It was hard not to notice that the masks worn by the likes of Harry Styles, Megan Thee Stallion, and Billie Eilish (to name a few) matched their designer looks. While we’ve seen masks sprinkled here and there in designer collections since Spring/Summer 2021, the Grammys might be the strongest cases for masks emerging as a leading trend. Celebs matched their masks to their outfits, making them an integral part of their looks and normalizing mask wearing for any occasion. Masks are the reality of our future so whether we’re going to outdoor dine or to the Grammys, there is one to match any outfit we step out in. Here are the best mask matching looks we saw at last night’s award show.
