Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are no strangers to engagement rumours, now two years into their relationship. The long-standing speculation has ranged from talks of an upcoming engagement all the way to a secret marriage.
This week, the singer seemed to subtly reaffirm her and Kelce’s current relationship status. On a visit to a children’s hospital in Florida this weekend, Swift was asked about her trip to the state by a patient, as seen in a video posted to X (formerly Twitter).
“My boyfriend is training here, so I just thought I’d come and see how you’re doing,” she responded.
Fans immediately noted the use of the word ‘boyfriend’.
This increased vigilance comes from earlier this month, when the Chicago Bears player Cole Kmet’s wedding planner unintentionally fuelled secret wedding rumours.
When wedding planner Ellie Nottoli shared images of the décor and personalised touches at Kmet’s nuptials, one image coyly included a “Taylor and Travis Kelce” place card. The joint name had many questioning whether the pair had already tied the knot secretly.
Swift’s latest comment, however, seems to confirm that this is not the case.
In February, an insider spoke to Us Weekly, revealing that the couple were “on the same page about taking the next step” but were taking things slow. Prior to this, the outlet also reported that while “Taylor does feel like Travis is the one”, she was not planning on rushing things either.
Up until recently, the couple has been enjoying their mutual time off together in private, following Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour and Kelce’s NFL season. Now, the ‘Tortured Poets Department‘ singer is spending time with Kelce in sunny Florida while he trains for his upcoming season.
