As declared by celebrities, supermodels, and influencers on your Instagram feed, early aughts fashion is back. Say hello to velour sweatsuits à la Paris Hilton, small baguette handbags, and our personal favorite: versatile bustier tops. We’re in love with how they look under a sleek blazer or teamed with stylish bottoms, be it statement trousers or casual sweatpants.
The bustier trend exploded over the summer of 2020, and it’s not dying down anytime soon. So many celebrities are embracing the form-fitting garment, styled in a wide variety of ways. For example, Kourtney Kardashian teamed her sheer corset bustier by David Koma with the London-based designer’s wide-leg trousers. The ensemble was the perfect combination of sexy and sophisticated—an excellent alternative to a mini dress or little skirt for a night out, that is, when the world goes back to normal.
Kardashian’s way of styling her bustier is just one out of many. We’re equally as obsessed with the way Zendaya recently wore a satin Alexandre Vauthier bustier with a color-coordinating suit jacket and matching pants. Likewise, we love Hailey Bieber’s casual-cool approach to the trend. Her wardrobe stylist, Maeve Reilly, dressed her in an all-Mugler outfit, comprised of a slim-fitting, cream bustier paired with high-waisted jeans.
