Salama Mohamed has captured hearts with her authenticity and resilience. As a Tiktoker, businesswoman and advocate for embracing yourself in your own skin, Salama has become an inspiring Emirati figure.

But who exactly is the beauty mogul and social media star? GRAZIA breaks it down below.

Rise to social media stardom

Salama’s journey to fame began on TikTok, where she now has 170,000 followers. On her page, she posts her personal skincare routines, follows TikTok trends, and shares her life experiences and challenges. Her content resonates with a broad audience due to its authenticity and relatability. Her social media fame doesn’t end there though, Salama also boasts a large following on Instagram with an audience of over 1.7 million.

CEO of Peacefull Skincare

Having centred her social media content around beauty from the beginning, Salama founded her own beauty brand, Peacefull, back in 2021. The skincare label emphasises inclusivity and acceptance. Peacefull offers a range of products designed for diverse skin types and conditions. The brand also promises gluten, fragrance, and cruelty-free ingredients with formulas winning several awards. Salama’s leadership and vision have positioned Peacefull as a strong competitor in the beauty industry. Through her brand, Salama continuously advocates for inclusive beauty standards and encourages her followers to truly embrace their skin.

Embracing Vitiligo

Vitiligo, a condition causing loss of skin colour in patches, is a significant part of Salama’s identity. Instead of hiding her condition, she embraces it, using her platform to spread awareness and encourage others to embrace the skin they are in.

Family Life

Salama is a devoted mother to two young boys whom she shares with Khalid Al Ameri. Despite her busy career and public persona, she prioritizes her role as a mother. She occasionally shares glimpses of her life with her sons, highlighting the joys and challenges of motherhood. Balancing responsibilities as both a mother and a CEO, Salama exemplifies resilience and dedication.

Overcoming Challenges

Salama’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. Initially, she managed a family account on social media with her husband Khalid Al Ameri, sharing funny skits and glimpses of their life. However, speculation has recently been rife that the pair may have split. Their joint accounts have since been erased, marking a significant shift in her personal life.

Salama recently appeared on popular Arab podcaster Hikmat Wehbi’s show, hinting at a recent turbulent time in her life, which many fans have alluded to a split with Khalid. Without revealing the context of the situation, she explained to the host, “I think at this stage of my life, it’s necessary that I just sit by myself… I can’t change people, but I can change people by removing them, replacing them.”
