The Ambanis have one person to thank for their idyllic lifestyle and immense fortune: the family head, Mukesh Ambani.
As one of India’s wealthiest individuals, Ambani has trailblazed through the business world, shaping the family’s indelible legacy.
As the mastermind behind lavish events, such as the grand pre-wedding celebration for his youngest son, Anant Ambani – where no expense has been spared – Ambani shoulders everything to set a new benchmark of taking spectaculars to the next level.
From the elaborate pre-wedding event at Jamnagar, Gujarat, planned by Ambaniand his wife, Nita Ambani, featuring an exclusive performance by Rihanna. And not stopping there, even hosting a second extravaganza with a detailed cruise tour from Portofino, Italy, to Cannes, in the South of France, he truly is a man who makes one wonder, “Will there be a third?” Maybe even a fourth, if he deems it so.
A man of many talents, Ambani ensures that every event is grand. And we’ve seen from the last few months, that nothing is impossible for the Ambani family.
Who is Mukesh Ambani?
Born on April 19, 1957, Mukesh Ambani, now 67 and still very much in his prime, hails from Bhuleshwar, Mumbai, where his family initially traded spice and yarn.
His journey from those humble beginnings to the zenith of corporate success is nothing short of inspiring. After completing his education, Mukesh ventured to California for higher studies but soon returned to India in the ’80s to assist his father, Dhirubhai Ambani, in expanding the family business.
His early efforts, particularly in spearheading a project for manufacturing yarn, laid the groundwork for what was to come.
Today, Ambani stands as the business tycoon extraordinaire, having transformed Reliance Industries Limited into a global powerhouse. With his visionary leadership and sharp intellect, he has propelled the company to unprecedented heights, continuing his father’s legacy with unmatched prowess.
From Humble Beginnings

While his father, Dhirubhai, laid the foundation of the billion-dollar empire, Ambani revolutionised the company from the inside out. But like with every great success story, humble beginnings were the stepping stones to achieving greatness.
Growing up in modest circumstances, sharing a small family room with nine of his family members all snuggled in a corner, Ambani found solace in his father’s resilience to bring the ordinary to the extraordinary.
So, by watching his father, who was a spice and yarn trader at the time, make daily business decisions to make ends meet, Ambani learned invaluable lessons that soon turned his business drive into the man he is today.
Crediting his father for his relentless ambition, Ambani used this inspiration to propel the company forward. Ensuring his own future as a self-starter and self-made man, he only has one mantra he fervently follows which he shares with everyone: “In the journey of an entrepreneur, the most important thing is self-belief and the ability to convert that belief into reality.”
A Family Man

It is clear that Ambani makes grand gestures for his family, and it isn’t the first time he has spent a couple of millions just to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of his youngest son and bride-to-be.
Being the epitome of grandeur, Ambani has never squandered a penny, he believes his children deserve only what is best to celebrate a milestone. As all three of his children, Akash, Isha and Anant tied the knot with their other halves, Ambani knows that a quintessential Indian wedding ceremony only deserves the crème de la crème.
From Isha and Anand’s 2018 wedding, where they spent a whopping $100 million, and another $4 million to get Grammy award-winning Beyoncé to perform, all the way to Akash’s and Shloka’s premium pre-wedding event at St. Moritz, where popular musical artists Chainsmokers and Coldplay’s Chris Martin performed exclusively.
Needless to say, the Ambani family never fails to create a spectacle.
