Looking for a new bag to carry? The latest sought-after bags come in courtesy of Lebanese label, Vanina.

Founded by childhood friends, Tatiana Fayad and Joanne Hayek, the dreamy line includes jewellery, clothing and delicious handbags in its repertoir – think creamy pearls, bold beads and chic shells around your shoulder. And once you tune in to Vanina’s Instagram Stories, you can spot its adorable bags on top ifluencers around the world.

The Beirut-based designer duo takes a transparent approach, which earned them a covetable spot in Net-a-Porter’s Net Sustain edit, and every piece is handcrafted in Lebanon, using up-cycling and zero-waste methods. Very chic and very sustainable – can it honestly get any better? The answer to that question is “yes”, as Vanina is also a strong advocate for local community development.

Its eco-jewellery atelier is located in Beqaa Valley, its main workshop in Beirut, and via the brand’s official website, customers are introduced to weaving artisans in Arsal and garment manufacturers in Burj Hammoud.

It’s a journey, which remains personal.
