Eat Your Way Through Southern Italy (ish)

Okay so it’s not actual Italy, but this dreamy Dubai Palm dining destination is the next best thing. With its chic trattoria decor complete with white wood walls, stone floors, pops of turquoise blue and tumbling bougainvillea, Piatti By The Beach will instantly transport you to the Mediterranean. Not to mention its sprawling outdoor terrace that leads directly to a pristine beach. Like we said, dreamy. But aesthetics aside, it’s also the place to go if you’re after some proper Italian grub. We’re talking bowls of freshly cooked pasta, plates of burrata bigger than your head and the freshest grilled seafood. Just be sure to save room for the pistachio lava cake. Dreamy.

try A firey date night at netsu

The tuna tamaki hand roll, spicy wagyu hot stone rice and miso caramel popcorn are all on the menu and not to be missed. Now that’s what we call turning up the heat…

Indulge in a hammaM

Mandarin Oriental Emirates Palace Royal Hammam
Mandarin Oriental Emirates Palace Royal Hammam

But not just any old hammam – the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi Royal Hammam. Bigger than most people’s apartments, it’s absolutely breathtaking – from the shimmery ceiling to the intricately detailed tiled walls, Moroccan lanterns and huge heated marble slab, which is what you’ll be lying on as you’re washed, scrubbed and lathered up to perfection with marocMaroc’s heavenly hammam-inspired body products. It’s worth a trip to Abu Dhabi alone, but nothing quite beats rolling out of the spa straight into a sumptuous hotel room, so if you really want to treat yourself, book yourself in for a night (or two) at the hotel.

Attention all Zuma lovers (let’s be honest, who isn’t one?) – the Saturday live station Baikingu Brunch at Zuma Dubai is finally back on the Dubai weekend plans menu. Famed for putting a chic spin on the conventional Japanese izakaya style of casual dining, Zuma boasts not one, not two, but three kitchens to tantalise your tastebuds. The main kitchen, the sushi counter and the robata grill. The modern menu is authentic but not traditional, displaying powerful and intense flavours through a range of dishes such as jumbo prawns with yuzu pepper, beef yakiniku with tahoon mayo and – of course – some of the best sushi rolls you’ll find outside of Japan. You know where to find us.
