Sustainability has been at the forefront of the conversation for quite some time now.

But what about bringing the topic beyond mere conversation and actioning it?

This is exactly what this new initiative by Doha Festival City – Qatar’s leading destination for fashion, beauty, and lifestyle – aims to do this season.

Enter Sustainable Futures, a pioneering new initiative designed in partnership with Harper’s Bazaar Qatar to bring eco-conscious creativity to life through immersive exhibitions, masterclasses, and industry-led talks.

Moving away from large-scale productions, Sustainable Futures features recyclable, minimalist pop-ups that explore the many facets of conscious living – from fashion and beauty to art and design.

Each display invites guests to experience sustainable retail in a tangible way, with Doha Festival City’s eco-conscious brands showcased alongside Qatar-based designers handpicked by the Harper’s Bazaar Qatar fashion team.

As Doha Festival City Director of Asset Management Christopher Barton notes, “We are committed to providing a platform for sustainable fashion, local initiatives, and emerging talent. Through carefully curated experiences and activations, we aim to inspire our community to embrace conscious choices while enjoying the best in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle.”

The initiative also collaborates with Scale7 and M7 to highlight local craftsmanship, pre-loved fashion pop-ups, and artworks from Intajat – a new cultural platform founded by Sheikh Khalifa Al Thani, dedicated to championing Qatari and Qatar-based artists through curated exhibitions and community-driven collaborations.

Sustainable Futures is set to launch on November 5, with the full program to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
