British designer Stella McCartney is famous for pioneering more sustainable manufacturing processes as well as only using vegan leather over the real deal. And now she’s taking her commitment to eco-fashion one step further by launching a line of biodegradable stretch denim.

Teaming up with Italian brand Candiani, the new fabric uses plant-based yarns, and the collection of 10 denim pieces which will be available to purchase in May, all contain Candiani’s patented Coreva Stretch Technology.

Taking to Instagram, Milan based Candiani owner Alberto Candiani, shared, “In a world where resources are diminishing and landfills are overflowing with discarded garments, it’s our duty to look for renewable resources, in addition to biodegradable and compostable materials. Denim has to take the lead as the indigo flag of this revolution and we are thrilled to be working alongside Stella McCartney to share our innovation and beliefs with the wider fashion industry”

Sustainable and stylish to boot? What’s not to love.
