Her Highness Sheikha Shamma bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has officially taken the reigns for her first venture in the Equestrian sport.
The sheikha, known for her profound adoration for horse riding, is firmly cementing her presence in the world of sportsmanship with the launch of her equestrian team — SMRM.
Taking to Instagram, HH Sheikha Shamma has been routinely posting her team’s progress and practice. From underwater treadmills to show jumping with the famed horses, Balousi Blue and Mehetrecia, the Emirati royal is unwaveringly showcasing her team spirit.
Just recently, the sheikha also announced the team’s first international show of the season at Emirates Longines Showjumping League Ranking where members of the team were seen participating in the event.
With much excitement that her team joined the league ranking, the royal posted a video of Mehetrecia with one of the equestrians performing their eventing jumping stunts.
The equestrian sport runs in the family
It’s no secret that Emirati royals have a flair for Equestrianism.
Just like Her Highness Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s whose fondness for horses and equestrian sports has been an important passion since her formative years.
In a now-deleted post, the Dubai sheikha, alongside American rapper French Montana and the first Emirati stem cell doctor, Dr Mahra Lufti, showcased their getaway to the Arabian dunes featuring their time focused on physical activities.
From driving ATVs in the desert, to even glimpses at the gym, the sheikha has been showing Montana true Middle Eastern-styled leisure.
As the sun started to set, she seemed to particularly enjoy her horse ride with Dr Mahra. The friends were seen galloping through the Dubai desert, with Sheikha Mahra evidently having her moment as she skillfully mounted her horse.
