On Friday, Her Highness Sheikha Mahra Al Maktoum and rapper French Montana took to Instagram to make it official: the pair are engaged.
The announcement comes after months of sightings and speculation surrounding their relationship – and what better way than to reveal it with a dazzling emerald cut diamond, which is reportedly worth an eyewatering $1.1 million (Dhs4 million approx).
Per Page Six, it has been confirmed the ring was designed by Eric the Jeweller of Mavani & Co., which was confirmed by the jeweller in a press release.
As for the details of the giant sparkler, the ring is an emerald-cut 11.53 carat diamond, complete with a diamond-encrusted band.
The jeweller also gave fans a closer look at the design, posting an in-depth video on the custom design.
To announce their news, the Dubai princess took to Instagram to share the news last week, posting a dazzling shot of a diamond ring that left little room for speculation, and tagging the rapper in a move that made their union official in the eyes of the world.
And it seems wedding plans are already well underway, according to French Montana’s team.
“Representatives confirm that while wedding plans are underway, specific dates and arrangements are still being finalised by both families, who are reportedly excited and supportive,” a press release stated.
The Dubai Ruler’s daughter’s engagement news comes after the princess announced her divorce from her ex-husband His Highness Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum.
The couple wed in June 2023 in a lavish ceremony in Dubai. They went on to welcome their first and only child together, a daughter, in May 2024.
Just two months later, Sheikha Mahra declared she was divorcing her husband.
The official Instagram account of Sheikha Mahra shared a post on July 16, 2024, announcing her “divorce” from Sheikh Mana in an explosive Instagram post. The Emirati princess wrote a short statement posted to her grid, appearing to be directed to her then-husband.
The post read: “Dear Husband, As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you. I divorce, and I divorce you. Take care. Your ex-wife.”
