Many have ventured far and wide to escape the UAE summer heat, this also rings true for His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Known for regularly holidaying in the UK, most particularly London, His Highness has made his way north for his 2023 summer holiday, venturing to Scotland.

Visiting the very north of the country, the Dubai Ruler is currently enjoying the cooler temperatures of the Scottish Inner Hebrides, located off the west coast of the country’s mainland.

In a series of photos shared by Khalifa Suleiman, the head of protocol for His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed has been embarking upon a number of adventures in Scotland along with a number of travel companions. This includes fishing trips, hiking, trekking and more.

Aptly dressed for the cooler weather (temperatures are around 16 degrees in Scotland right now compared to 40 degrees Celsius in the UAE), the Dubai Ruler is seen wearing a series of earthy coloured outfits ideal for hiking and outdoors weather in Scotland.

In the photographs shared by Khalifa Suleiman, he was also seen wearing a traditional brown kandoura paired with a jacket over the top given the cooler temperatures.

Sheikh Mohammed, a known wordsmith and lover of poetry, has also penned a poem about his recent trip, shared by his aide.

“Wandering in a sea of waves; I forget about my sitting quarters; Your closeness is a cure for the soul; And your eyes are happy about my nights,” the poem, written in Arabic, translates to.
