Reflection, the moon, and skill. These are three elements that reigned supreme as Rolls-Royce bridged the concept to creation with the one-of-a-kind Spectre Lunaflair.
Nothing is impossible when Rolls-Royce—an unparalleled innovator—sets out to craft a phenomenon. As such, blending the cosmos with the physical world, the Spectre Lunaflair which drew inspiration from the lunar halo, and manifests a colourful ring of light encircling the moon, is truly a feat that only a heritage brand of high calibre and innovation can do.
While the phenomenon was one place they tapped into, another source of inspiration is from their lists of unrivalled collections, the masterpiece, Phantom Syntopia. The client, who was enamoured by the Phantom’s moody Liquid Noir finish and the radiant glow of the mirror-like pigment, took inspiration from the design. And this ushered the Bespoke Collective to produce this luminous take on the lunar halo of the Spectre Lunaflair.
To capture this ethereal moment, Rolls-Royce has translated the cosmic into reality with a Bespoke paint finish, followed by seven layers of lacquer and a specially formulated pearlescent coat, creating a scintillating holographic paint like no other.
Through meticulous trial and error, they’ve achieved a visual masterpiece that reflects their engineering precision. The paint, which unapologetically gleams with an otherworldly glow, is perfectly complemented by the interior coachwork, which features a harmonious blend of blues, whites, and peony pinks.
This special commission only reinforces Rolls-Royce’s legacy of exceeding what seems possible. Martina Starke, Head of Bespoke Design at Rolls-Royce, remarked, “We are constantly astounded by the diversity of ideas that inform our clients’ Bespoke concepts, which frequently draw inspiration from materials, finishes, and themes they encounter in other commissions.”
She added, “The Spectre Lunaflair perfectly exemplifies this, exploring the ethereal beauty of a lunar halo—a concept sparked by the client after witnessing another Bespoke paint finish.”
This adds to their growing list of exclusive one-of-ones, truly the epitome of their signature dedication to craftsmanship and innovation.
