As the global fashion month comes to its final stages, all eyes are on Riyadh. Opening today until October 21, the Saudi capital hosts for the third time its annual Riyadh Fashion Week (RFW), a five-day celebration of creativity, culture and forward-thinking design.
The week, featuring more than 30 runway shows and presentations, showcases home-grown talents and international designers, putting the Kingdom on the map as a rising hub on the global fashion map.
This year’s season had already made headlines, with Vivienne Westwood opening RFW, making her Middle East debut, while Stella McCartney will bring the week to an end, bringing her version of sustainable luxury to the desert. Both designers carry an important message that innovation, ethics, and creativity can coexist within the Fashion industry.
Local talent is very much in the spotlight. Designers such as Mohammed Ashi, Tarek Sinno and Madiyah Al Sharqi showcase their collections, combining modern aesthetic with cultural heritage, while embracing sustainability and inclusivity. Their work showcases the Kingdom’s creative potential while bringing Qatari and Saudi designers to the forefront of the fashion industry.
