If Rihanna‘s pregnancy wardrobe was anything to go by, it comes as no surprise that her postpartum style is just as spectacular. Her reentry into society is one for the Pinterest board and since giving birth to a baby boy in May, she’s delivered plenty of coveted looks. Her next perfect ensemble arrived this week as she stepped out in New York City for date night with A$AP Rocky in perfect couple coordination.
The pop star was captured wearing a black leather trench (even in the height of summer) with a Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra corset, denim-look leggings, pumps and a mini satin Dior saddle bag. Rocky coordinated in a navy blazer and shorts by Raf Simmons, a printed t-shirt and Oxford brogue hybrid sneakers.
Kylie Jenner wore a similar white iteration of the corset last week. It comes after Jean Paul Gaultier returned to ready-to-wear in 2021 after a six-year hiatus. At the helm is graphic designer Florence Tétier who has reimagined archival styles (like the beloved cone bra once worn by Madonna) for the current season.
As for Rihanna’s ongoing postpartum style, the new mother was first spotted earlier this month at a barber shop in London where Rocky was receiving a glow up before he performed at Wireless Music Festival. The singer wore a Prada puffer jacket and vintage Chanel sunglasses. She was later captured as the best dressed groupie ever at Rocky’s set at Rolling Loud in Portugal. She wore a matching Balenciaga x Adidas set with an Hermès scarf wrapped around her head and pumps… in the sand. Brave.
We are yet to earn a glimpse, or even a name for the couple’s newborn son. An insider told People in May however, that they’re adjusting well as new parents. “Being a new parent is of course an adjustment, but they are doing great. Their baby boy is healthy and Rihanna is just in awe of him,” they said.
