Calling all film buffs, The Reel Palestine Film Festival is returning to Dubai this month for its 10th edition. Palestine is abundant with rich culture and heritage and Dubai is getting a glimpse with the Reel Palestine Film Festival. It will showcase alternative and independent films and is a commemoration of Palestine, highlighting the history of the Palestinian people. This season will focus on the strength, fight and triumphs of the Palestinian heritage. Below, GRAZIA tells you everything to know about the Reel Palestine Film Festival 2024.

This year the Reel Palestine Film Festival will run from January 26 to February 4, 2024 at Dubai’s independent boutique cinema, Cinema Akil, featuring films that chronicle the stories of the Palestinian people.

The lineup for this year includes a fascinating selection of feature films and documentaries in addition to a captivating selection of short films. As well as seminars, workshops and an annual souk featuring Palestinian businesses and organizations, the festival is sure to delight attendees.

With 16 films scheduled for 23 screenings, the festival will begin with the award-winning picture The Teacher, directed by festival expert Farah Nabulsi and featuring actor Saleh Bakri. Other films that will be shown at the festival include the following:

  • Tomorrow’s Freedom – directed by Georgia Scott and Sophia Scott
  • Bye Bye Tiberias – directed by Lina Soualem
  • Here & Elsewhere – directed by Jean-Luc Godard, Jean-Pierre Gorin, Groupe Dziga Vertov, and Anne-Marie Miévillem
  • Slingshot Hip-Hop – directed by Jacqueline Reem Salloum
  • Foragers – directed by Jumana Manna
  • Three Promises – directed by Yousef Srouji
  • We No Longer Prefer Mountains – directed by Inas Halabi
  • Aida Returns – by the multi-award-winning director Carol Mansour
  • Notes on Displacement – directed by Khaled Jarrarr
  • R21 aka Restoring Solidarity – directed by Mohanad Yaqubi
