That’s right, the frontline healthcare workers of Italy are going to be dressed in Armani from head-to-toe.

Aside from Giorgio Armani’s initial donation of 2 million euros to hospitals treating patients infected with the coronavirus in Bergamo, Piacenza and Versilia in the Tuscany region, the Armani Group has recently announced that all its Italian factories have now prioritised the production of single-use medical overalls to be donated to healthcare workers engaged in the battle against COVID-19.

The lack of supplies, devices and medical equipment has been a major concern and issue for Italy during the outbreak of the ongoing pandemic as the virus has infected 664,000 people worldwide, of which over 92,000 patients are based in Italy alone. Healthcare workers have had no choice but to reuse medical overalls and masks during this challenging period and Armani has voluntarily stepped in to help curtail this shortage by any means possible.

Other high-profile designers and celebrities have also donated in support of the fight against COVID-19. Chiara FerragniRihannaDonatella VersacePradaSergio Rossi and luxury powerhouse LVMH have all contributed to help combat the virus.
