Mabrook to His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, and Her Royal Highness Princess Rajwa as they welcomed their first child, Princess Iman bint Al Hussein over the weekend.
On August 3, 2024, the Royal Hashemite Court released a statement on the birth of Princess Iman.
“The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein were blessed, on 3 August 2024, with a baby girl they named Iman,” the statement read.
Taking to social media on Saturday morning His Majesty King Abdullah II posted on X in Arabic, which translates to “Praise be to God who gave us our first granddaughter, Iman bint Al-Hussein.”
Further adding his best wishes to the royal couple, “I congratulate Al-Hussein and Rajwa on their newborn baby. We ask God to give her good growth and protect her for her parents.”
Queen Raina also extended her excitement on Instagram announcing the arrival of her first granddaughter. “Iman, you’ve already got a hold on my heart. Our Family has never been happier! ♥️”
Many members of the Jordan Royal family were also present at the King Hussein Medical Center. Notably their highnesses, Princess Iman, Princess Salma and Prince Hashem, who we’re gleefully cradling baby Iman.
The Crown Prince Recites Adhan
In Islam, the Adhan is a call to prayer for a newborn. It follows the Islamic practice and principle that the very first words of a child be the Adhan.
Said to be whispered by the father into the right ear, Prince Hussein said “There is no deity but Allah; Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
