Burj Khalifa, Dubai Skyline

There are girls’ nights, and then there are girls’ nights. Ones that begin with a Negroni somewhere above the Dubai skyline. Naturally, we prefer the latter.

This September, CÉ LA VI Dubai is marking Negroni Week with a limited-edition line-up dedicated to the Italian aperitivo that has somehow become shorthand for impeccable taste. Bitter, botanical and unapologetically grown-up, the Negroni has long graduated from cocktail-menu classic to something of a lifestyle choice – and, frankly, we’re here for it.

Perched high above Downtown Dubai, CÉ LA VI already has the requisite ingredients for a very chic evening: skyline views, a dress-up-worthy dining room and the sort of atmosphere that makes ordering “just one more” feel entirely reasonable. For Negroni Week, the bar will be putting its own spin on the classic, making it an especially good excuse to gather the girls and reclaim the weekend.

The iconic spot brings six iterations of the Negroni to its craft cocktail menu – with the Port Negroni taking centre stage. Housed in a barrel and aged for over a year, the refined serve sets the tone for an elevated exploration of the classic. Elsewhere on the menu, the Coco Nero blends roasted coconut-infused Dictador rum with rich, tropical spice, while the Fumo Di Fragola pairs strawberry and basil-infused Bombay Gin with Campari for a fragrant, fruit-forward twist.

The lineup continues with Thyme After Thyme, bringing an aromatic blend of herbal and fruity notes to the table. Then comes the floral and citrusy Kyoto, before the coffee-infused Sweet Roast rounds things off with a rich, bittersweet finish.

Our prescription? Book a table for sunset, arrive while there’s still enough light for the obligatory skyline pictures, order something bitter and beautifully garnished, and let dinner turn into drinks.

Weekend plans don’t really get better than that.
