There’s no denying that Logina Salah’s grand entrance at the 73rd Miss Universe made waves on the global stage.

As the first woman of Egyptian descent with a skin condition to take the stage, she not only became the face that fronts inclusivity in the famed beauty pageant but has opened up an important narrative about how true beauty is far more than skin-deep.

Taking to Instagram to share her heartfelt thanks to her 1.8 million fans and supporters, she said, “Thank you to everyone for being with me in this journey, it means a lot!”

Adding further her passion and perseverance for changing the status quo, many of her fans noted a particularly powerful statement. “Let’s continue shaping a world free from hate and discrimination,” she declared.

Fans quickly applauded her enthusiasm and vigour. One commented, “Thank you for showing the world that it doesn’t matter what our differences can be, dreams always come true.”

While another said, “You won the hearts of many of us since long ago! And I’m sure you just conquered even thousands more.”

Logina’s trailblazing journey has inspired and reached historic milestones for the Arab Region. Especially since she pushed through and became the first Egyptian woman to enter the top 30 in the country’s 73 years of participation.

Who Is Logina Salah?

Logina was born on April 21, 1990, in Egypt. Raised in the city of Alexandria, she grew her influence in the world of beauty by being open about her vitiligo and providing a safe space for inclusive makeup techniques.

Just three years ago, along with her 10-year-old daughter, they moved to the city of Dubai where she went to achieve her dreams.

As a powerful voice for women, Logina, who is a spokesperson for inclusivity and empowerment, recently opened her own platform coined Beyond The Surface MovementA page dedicated to showcasing her relentless drive to make a better place for children and the youth–especially for women and girls.
