The MENA region is poised to shine on the global stage at Miss Universe. With the pageant set for November 16, 2026, in Mexico City, the Middle East has officially crowned its queens to represent the region in this prestigious competition.

For Bahrain, all eyes are on Shereen Ahmed.

As with each year, a group of remarkable women will come together to compete across three challenging categories: evening gown, personality interview, and more. Each representative will showcase their unique blend of charisma, intelligence, and beauty.

Adding to the impressive roster of Arab women, Shereen Ahmed will take the stage as Bahrain’s representative, bringing her captivating charm and meaningful advocacies to make a lasting impact.

Who is Shereen Ahmed?

At 29 years old, the Bahraini-Filipina content creator, model, and journalist has been making strides in the world of glam since her first entry in pageantry and modelling at just 15 years old. Taking the opportunity to step afoot on the global stage, she was inspired by her mom, a model in the late 90’s, to expound further her advocacy to empower women, single mothers and young girls alike.

A Mental Health Activist

An examplar and embodiment of commitment to raising awareness in the realm of mental health, Shereen has long been an advocate for providing a safe platform. Covering areas she herself has been struggling since 2020, such as anxiety and hypochondria. Having experienced her fair share of battles, she candidly opened up about her struggles and vulnerabilities with her childhood on a campaign Rock Your Ugly where she channelled her energy to stand in solidarity to individuals who faced similar hardships and help them navigate life while healing their inner child.

A talented TV presenter

While off the beauty runway, the Bahraini beauty professionally endeavoured in the field of TV presenting. A creative machine, she presents an array of experiences as a presenter for popular medias across Dubai.

She studied journalism

A few years ago, she embarked on a journey landing a role as Editor in Chief of a local publishing company based in Bahrain, effortlessly proving her skills as a writer. Her prior education in Middlesex University Dubai, where she pursued and earned a Bachelors degree in Journalism and Media, laid the foundation for her success in this role.

Proud of both her cultures

Staying true to her hertiage, Shereen proudly embraces both her Bahraini and Filipino roots. She often shares posts about cultural landmarks in Bahrain all the while glamoured wearing traditional attire such as the thobe nashal, or modest abayas, and even Filipino cultural clothing.

Dedicated to Single mothers wellbeing

An ode to her commendable advocacy, Shereen is using her voice to raise awareness for single mothers. Understanding the predicament on the issue, she stands with local organisations like Hope Amel UAE, where she devotedly acts as an ambassador to help women in need to receive essentials. So much so, seeing the benefit of this charity, she too opened up the community platform under Hope Amel Bahrain, in her home country.
