Let yourself get immersed in the wind, and feel everything around you as Sanctum takes you on an elevated wellness experience from your busy lives filled with uncertainty and growing anxiety levels encouraging you to release and let go. This cathartic, high-intensity mindful movement concept empowers your body and expands your mind and soul for holistic wellness. Bringing the sanctum experience to Qasr Al Sarab desert resort in Abu Dhabi, Sanctum x Al Qasr will begin from 30th March to 2nd April.

Founded by Former Dutch professional dancer, performer and fitness guru, Luuk Melisse, the Sanctum movement sequence incorporates components of HIIT with interdisciplinary types of physical, spiritual, and mental conditioning such as kundalini yoga, martial arts, animalistic flow, breath work, and modern fitness. The mindful wellness sequence is curated with music influenced by Amsterdam’s techno culture, with spoken word and symphonic pieces to complement attentive and meditative periods using headphones. The central purpose of Sanctum is to restore equilibrium to your mental, spiritual, and physical bodies through intense repetition and breath exercises.

The retreat will conduct sanctum hikes, mindful desert walks, healthy gourmet meals, star gazing, sound therapy concerts, yin yoga, energy centres healing workshop and more for a rejuvenating experience.

Conceptualised in 2020, Luuk developed a method for changing body frequencies within one class after investing in his personal spiritual growth over the years. Spending time with monks in silence, fasting alone in the Mexican tradition of vision quests, and engaging in intensive kundalini yoga study in Sri Lanka and Bali helped him to structure the sequence. The effect is achieving physical edginess and attentive bliss using the physical body as a vehicle to access the mind and liberate personal potential on a more holistic basis.

The blueprinted Sanctum sequence encourages expression without criticism as individuals push their physical, emotional, and spiritual limits to let go, heal, and celebrate themselves.
