Twenty-two-year-old Meadow Walker is the latest celebrity child to take on the modelling world, fronting Proenza Schouler’s newly released 2021 pre-fall campaign. But take one look at Paul Walker’s daughter and you’ll see that famous father or not, this young woman was destined to be in front of the camera.
Since 2017, Walker has been signed to DNA Models, but today’s announcement, which both Walker and Proenza Schouler shared on social media, marks the first big campaign she’s been a part of. “I am so unbelievably grateful to everyone who has supported me and believed in me,” Walker wrote on Instagram with an image from the campaign. “Thank you Jack and Lazaro @proenzaschouler and @bertmartirosyan for trusting me to share this beautiful collection with the world. Thank you to my @dnamodels family for guiding me every step of the way.”
Walker was 15 years old when her father, famous for his roles in the Fast & Furious franchise, died suddenly in a car crash in 2013. In 2015, on her late dad’s birthday, Walker launched the Paul Walker Foundation, which works to educate and promote the protection of the oceans and wildlife. At the time of its launch, Walker wrote on Instagram, “Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions. His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill. I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world. I want to share that part of him with others. I am tremendously proud to be launching The #PaulWalkerFoundation (@paulwalkerfdn) on his birthday. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my father.”
With those genes and that clear modelling ability, it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing a lot more of Meadow Walker in the very near future.
