MCM Worldwide has unveiled its latest collaboration in a showcase of creativity and innovation.
Joining forces with British-Nigerian artist Yinka Ilori, a new exhibition has been curated at MCM HAUS Flagship in Seoul.
Under the theme of ‘Empathy & Coexistence’, the exhibition took centre stage during the highly acclaimed Frieze Art Fair and attracted a diverse array of luminaries from the realms of fashion, art, business and culture.
In celebration, a gala dinner was held over the weekend, which included regional guests Emirati Twins Hadban.
Yinka Ilori is known for his transformative talent in turning everyday furniture into stunning works of art and the exhibition on show is no different.
The centrepiece of the MCM HAUS exhibition was the striking showcase titled ‘There is Good in All of Us,’ which explored the interplay between inner and outer beauty through the revitalisation of chairs. These chairs, reimagined with MCM’s iconic Visetos pattern and repurposed materials, symbolised the brand’s unwavering dedication to sustainable creativity.
Adding depth to the narrative, the ‘Looking at Me’ segment featured ten of Yinka Ilori’s masterpieces, charting his artistic journey from his early works to his emergence as an avant-garde artist.
The MCM x Yinka Ilori collaboration exemplifies MCM’s profound commitment to the arts, fostering discussions at the intersection of fashion, art, heritage, and sustainability. These extraordinary creations are available at MCM HAUS and select stores following the event.
