Two of the most prolific Emirati designers Manaal Al Hammadi and Shamsa Alabbar have come together unveil the “collaboration of the season”, as they have described.
Both Emirati women have been instrumental in the growth of the regional fashion scene across luxury, fine jewellery and ready-to-wear.
Manaal, who has become well-known for her eponymous ready-to-wear label, first began designing in 2006, whilst Shamsa launched her namesake jewellery brand in 2013, which was never in her initial plan, nonetheless her designs became an instant hit with her inner circle, growing into an established label.
The two women have now come together to unveil a “one of a kind” ring collaboration and it promises well crafted intricate pieces that are bold and elegant.
The Manaal Al Hammadi & Shamsa Alabbar collaboration
The Manaal Al Hammadi X Shamsa Alabbar collaboration features a series of contemporary abaya designs, as well as staple jewellery pieces, all available to purchase at the Manaal Al Hammadi store in Wasl 51.
A reflection of their creativity, the collection allows both the designer’s distinct design philosophies and aesthetics to shine through. Using Shamsa’s signature “token” line as a canvas, both designers imprint their artistic visions and individual styles onto the rings. Manaal’s remains understated and muted. With clean lines and sleek finishing, her designs centre elevated minimalism and subdued colours. While Shamsa’s lean bold, centring gems and diamonds, her designs glimmer. Striking in her creativity, her touch leaves an audacious impression.

Who are Manaal Al hammadi and Shamsa Alabbar?
Established in the fashion and jewellery world, both women have paved their own lanes within the industry. Nothing short of a pioneer, Manaal Al Hammadi is an Emirati designer who has introduced outerwear that is fashion forward, edgy and elegant to the region. Launching her brand in 2006, her designs give contemporary modest women centre stage through creative expression and originality. Manaal is now, to many, more than a designer or brand owner. She is a vessel and voice to modest women of the current day, who want the dresses and abayas they dawn to be as fearless and unapologetic as they are.
Shamsa Alabbar launched her eponymous brand in 2013, and has seen it through to new heights and dimensions since. Creating for the modern Arab woman, her designs centre Arabic typography and geometric shapes. Intermixing the two design disciplines, she create unique and modern pieces for fashionably daring woman. Reworking her Arab heritage into her art, she inspires a subculture of women to step into their cultural DNA.
