The Queen of Pop, Madonna, spent the holidays in Morocco the way only an icon would.
A family affair, the pop-star posed for photos alongside her boyfriend, Akeem Morris, her son, Rocco, and daughters, Mercy, Stella, and Estere. With smiles all around, she took to Instagram to share snapshots of herself and the whole family to her 20.l million followers.
The family seemed to hit multiple Moroccan hot spots during their trip, including the souks of Marrakech, filled with artisanal leather goods, babouche slides, and decorated tagines. Staying at one of the top five hotels in the world, the Selman Marrakech, hosted the singer and her family while they explored the capital.
Embracing traditional experiences the Middle Eastern country had to offer, the group was seen sipping Moroccan mint tea served in Keesans, strutting with the backdrop of intricate Zellij tiled walls and horseshoe domes, and wearing the iconic fez hats.
To celebrate the New Year, the whole crew took to the red dunes of the Agafay Desert, staying at Le Boudoin.

Not only did Madonna embrace the beautiful Moroccan backdrops, but she also embraced the Moroccan winter, posing in a plush fur coat and headpiece ensemble while exploring the capital. The likes of a ‘Berber Queen’: she stunned in a long floor-length gown embellished with a gold bejewelled body piece, finished off with a matching velvet cape and lace gloves.
No stranger to Morocco, Madonna visited the country in 2018 to celebrate her 60th birthday. Just like all of us, she is clearly a fan of indulging in couscous, being starstruck by their terracotta tiled structures, and enjoying the spirit of the local people.
For those of us who haven’t visited yet, Madonna has definitely further cemented Morocco onto our travel bucket lists.
