If you live in Dubai, chances are you’ll know how exhausting it is to get around: trying to hail a Hala cab after work along with 20,000 other people in the city, paying the 4 x higher fair for an Uber that you know should only cost you Dhs60, or elbowing your way onto the metro during rush hour. Enter Wheely, the ultra-luxe travel service that has finally made its way to the UAE.

The global service has made a huge splash with its regional launch, with a fleet made entirely of the greatest luxury cars on the market – the BMW 5 Series and  Mercedes-Benz S-Class – each made to relax in for however-long your journey may be.

GRAZIA tried and tested the Swiss-born, England-based service and we quickly learned that money can, in fact, buy happiness. GRAZIA used the pre-booking chauffeur option – in the First Class car, of course – to head for dinner and drinks at Flamingo Room. The chicest Mercedes-Benz S-Class we ever did see shows up promptly on time, and we’re greeted inside the car with Fiji Water, refreshing towels, and even an Acqua Di Parma gift.

Seriously, the Mercedes is a gorgeous car, and it’s one of the best luxury vehicles on offer to unwind in its reclining seats, featuring ambient-lighting, additional legroom, and privacy blinds all offering you the ability to sit back and de-stress or make your calls in peace.

But what is a great car without a great chauffeur? Wheely has put a huge focus on developing its own. Replicating the success of its London Chauffeur Academy, Wheely also plans to introduce a dedicated Chauffeur Academy in Dubai.

A world-class luxury chauffeur-hailing service offering on-demand rides doesn’t come without a fee, of course. This is a members-only service, which users can only get access to via invitation or after 15 trips with the app within six months. The rides are not cheap by any means (around Dhs300 from JLT to Madinat), but trust us when we say, it Wheely is worth it…
