UPDATE 13/01/2023 6am GST: Hours after it was reported that Lisa Marie Presley had been hospitalised following cardiac arrest, The Guardian revealed that the American singer has died. She was 54. Her mother Priscilla Presley released a statement on the news:

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” she said in a statement. “She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”

Presley is survived by her daughter Riley, 33, and 14-year-old twins Finley and Harper. Her son, Benjamin, died of suicide in 2020. 

13/01/2023 2am GST: Lisa Marie Presley is currently hospitalised after suffering cardiac arrest on Thursday according to TMZ. People confirmed the news overnight with the outlets reporting that paramedics performed CPR on Presley after they were called to her Calabasas home.

LA County Sheriff Deputy Veronica Fantom told E! News that the call was made at around 10:45am for an unidentified woman. After regaining a pulse she was transported to hospital by the fire department.

Presley, 54, is the only child to Priscilla Presley and the late Elvis Presley. “My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital,” Priscilla said in a statement per ABC“She is now receiving the best care.”

She added, “Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world, and ask for privacy during this time.”

At the time of publishing Presley’s condition is not known.

The incident occurred following the Golden Globes where Austin Butler received the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama Motion Picture for his portrayal of the King of Rock in Elvis. 

Prior to the film’s release Presley shared her praise for the new movie, describing Butler’s performance as “truly mind-blowing”. “I really didn’t know what to do with myself after I saw it,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I had to take, like, five days to process it because it was so incredible and so spot on and just so authentic that, yeah, I can’t even describe what it meant.”
