If the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards belonged to Jennifer Aniston (and Brad Pitt’s right arm), then 2021’s virtual ceremony was Lily Collins’ for the taking. The Emily In Paris star took the GRAZIA global network’s collective breath away in a Georges Hobeika from his couture SS18 collection.

Styled by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, the delicate lemonade pink minidress was completed with Casadei heels and Cartier diamonds.

“Might be a little dressed up for the location,” Collins captioned her Instagram post.

A day prior to the awards, MoDa’s Touch director Mohieb Dahabieh hinted at the dresses’ fate. A Central Saint Martins and Vogue Arabia alum, Dahabieh was the sort-after head of communications at Ralph & Russo couture in London. The man knows statement dressing and impact.

“Every dress has a destiny,” he captioned a photo of the pink number on the runway. “Some are destined for the stratosphere, even years past their season…” – and it appears some are destined for one Emily Cooper.

Imagine Sylvie’s response to Emily walking into the Parisian office in this. She’d balk and then quietly admire the intricate embellishing around its Peter Pan collar and busy hemline. Imagine Gabriel’s reaction if Emily picked up a coffee at his restaurant – or heaven forbid stayed for a wine after work, or passed him in the hallway.

Poet Amanda Gorman was a fan as well. “This photo is the gift in my Easter basket,” she commented on Collins’ Instagram post.

“I would love nothing more than to have Emily’s wardrobe at home because honestly, wearing all of those colours, textures, prints, styles, proportions, shapes, all of the above, designers, it made me so much more adventurous with my own fashion,” Collins told E! News in December.

Collins is no stranger to a big fashion and beauty moment. At the 2021 Golden Globes, the actress wore a stunning, embroidered one-shouldered Saint Laurent number – with a beauty look to match her attire’s boldness. See contributing beauty editor Emily’s breakdown of Collins’ GG look here.
