From world leaders to high school students, Greta Thunberg’s crusade against climate change has inspired many.

And now it seems Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio is showing his appreciation and lending his support, by helping the Swedish teenager in her fight against the environmental emergency facing future generations.

In 1998, Leo founded the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, non-profit organisation devoted to promoting environmental awareness, preserving the Earth’s biodiversity and supporting renewable energy.

And during his acceptance speech at the 88th Academy Awards in 2016 where he won best actor for his role in The Revenant, Leo used his platform to speak about climate change, and draw attention to the problems facing future generations.

Most recently, he’s pledged $5 million to the Amazon rainforest fires relief fund.

But it’s his most recent Instagram post dedicated to Greta that is getting the most buzz online.

Taking to the social media platform, the 44-year-old Oscar winner shared a picture of himself posing with Greta and explained that as a keen climate change advocate and activist himself, the unlikely duo would be supporting one another in all their environmental endeavours in the future.

“There are few times in human history where voices are amplified at such pivotal moments and in such transformational ways – but @GretaThunberg has become a leader of our time,” he wrote.
