Kate Middleton and Prince William have made their first joint public appearance in 2024! Eight months into the year, the Prince and Princess of Wales filmed a short celebratory video together congratulating Great Britain’s Olympic athletes for their performances at the recent Paris Games.
After being introduced by Snoop Dogg on the video, the royal couple appeared in a quaint garden setting to deliver their short message. “From all of us watching from home, congratulations to Team GB,” the princess began. Prince William added, “Well done on all you’ve achieved. You’ve been an inspiration to us all.”
The couple opted for their typical ‘off duty’ attire, with Kate wearing a boatneck long sleeve with navy Breton stripes, and Prince William wearing an Adidas Team GB spectator polo released specifically for the Olympics. Watch the short and sweet moment, below.
Well done @TeamGB, what an incredible journey!
Every athlete showed immense dedication, heart and passion. You made us all so proud!
Here's to celebrating every triumph at @Paris2024 and looking forward to more from @ParalympicsGB later in the summer 🇬🇧🥇 pic.twitter.com/oCLz7HuuLG

The team, who were placed seventh on the medal tally, also received well wishes from former national football captain David Beckham and the United Kingdom’s second-most decorated Olympian, cyclist Chris Hoy.
The Princess of Wales’ ongoing health struggles prompted her to take a substantial step back from the public-facing duties required of her. After not being seen for months, amounting welfare checks on the reported ‘missing’ Princess prompted Kate to provide an update on her condition, revealing a saddening diagnosis in March.
The former Duchess of Cambridge made her first appearance of the year to attend the annual Trooping the Colour festivities alongside her family. She posed with Prince William and their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to celebrate the monarchy and reign of her father-in-law, King Charles III.

Despite Kate and Prince William’s joint appearances lacking this year, it’s apparent that one thing will coax the royal back into the world’s eye: sport.
As you may recall, Kate also attended the final day of the Wimbledon tennis tournament as her duty as Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. She awarded the gilded trophy to 21-year-old Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz after watching the game with Princess Charlotte.
