Julia Roberts has made her debut for the awards season trail after she was notably absent from the Golden Globes last week. It seems, however, that the actress is making up for lost sartorial moments after she appeared at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards this evening in one of her best red carpet looks to date.
Styled Elizabeth Stewart – who also counts clients such as Cate Blanchett and Viola Davis – the Ticket to Paradise actress posed for photographers in a glittering Schiaparelli gown. Unlike the designer’s affinity for golden breast plates and larger than life accessories, Stewart took a more subtle approach with a black long sleeve gown emblazoned with sequins and beads from the wrists and neckline. The ensemble was finished with a black clutch, black platform heels and Chopard jewels.
Roberts wore fiery red curled locks for this evening courtesy of hairstylist Serge Norman while makeup was done by Genevieve Herr.
Roberts was nominated in the category of Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for her role in Gaslit. The actress plays Martha Mitchell within the series and reimagines the American 1970s political Watergate scandal in a modern light. The star just missed out with Amanda Seyfried taking home the Critics Choice Award for The Dropout.
The Pretty Woman star has turned heads on plenty occasions for her breathtaking looks, more recently when she appeared at the Kennedy Centre Honours event in The White House wearing a custom Moschino gown by Jeremy Scott. This wasn’t any old custom and featured portraits of George Clooney’s face. As you do.
