It’s no secret that Dubai-based influencer Julia Hussein knows how to make a powerful statement.

We’ve seen it through her unapologetic sense of style, her distinct aesthetic, and her covetable wardrobe. She has a way of cutting through the noise – and her latest message is no exception.

Never afraid to keep it real, the content creator and entrepreneur took to Instagram and TikTok to share her recent experience on a trip that seemingly stayed longer after it happened.

Adding context, Julia explained that a girl, just starting in her career, told the creator how beautiful she looked, which was immediately followed by, “This dress would never look good on me.” Naturally, it was a sentence Julia couldn’t ignore.

“I was so pissed,” she admitted candidly, “I couldn’t even say thank you.”

The creator instead chose to respond with a gentle reminder: “Please don’t decide you’re not made for something before even trying it. Style is not about a body type. It’s about how you carry yourself.”

For Julia, the issue stems much deeper than just the surface level of the fashion or fit. She further pointed out and delved into the fact that compliments can turn into moments of self-criticism.

“It’s okay to compliment other girls,” she explained, “but without making yourself feel terrible, basically.”

Her message, ultimately, is a gentle reminder. “I just wanted to share this with all the younger girls,” she said. “Please don’t be harsh on yourself. I don’t want to hear any of that in 2026.”
