Wimbledon is back for 2024 and while all eyes are, of course, on the tennis stars, it’s also a stomping ground for fashion’s elite.

One such individual that turned heads at the revered tennis tournament earlier this week was former GRAZIA cover star Ikram Abdi.

Stepping out in a striped green and white shirt and pants co-ord, the ensemble’s hues drew directly from Wimbledon’s colour palette. The model paired the all Ralph Lauren outfit was paired with a navy blazer.

Looking as stylish as ever, Ikram also made sure to soak up the atmosphere courtside as she watched the tennis stars battle it out in the opening rounds of the tournament.

Who is Ikram Abdi Omar?

Known for her immense dedication to fashion, the model and influencer is a force to be reckoned with. The Somali model moved to Sweden at the age of eight, which she told GRAZIA she had “an interesting” childhood.

With a passion so fierce to break the status quo, Ikram who initially studied dentistry, found her calling in fashion after finding the need to change the fashion’s hard-to-break barrier.

Born on Jun 9, 1996, the Swedish-Somali model has persevered and climbed up to be one of the it-girls in fashion since her debut at London Fashion Week for British designer Molly Goddard’s FW18 collection.

While the dream and desire to foster change fuelled her, she focused more on showcasing the importance of representation for fellow Muslim women.

“I don’t see myself as a role model but I understand why young girls who look like me look up to me,” Ikram said. “It’s more about the changes I’m helping break in the fashion industry and proving to everyone that no matter how you look, you can make it if you stay dedicated.”

Now, Ikram boasts her modelling career at the forefront of numerous catwalks at fashion weeks, both ready-to-wear and haute couture.
