We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, Her Highness Sheikha Moza bin Nasser is the fashion icon amongst all fashion icons.
A master of poise, always tres chic, it’s been a long-time fact that she is the most fashion-forward royal. True to her deserving title, Sheikha Moza has yet again proved to everyone that fashion is her monopoly. How so? By wearing a custom-made Schiaparelli dress.
While stepping out in Qatar, the royal recently attended an outdoor event where she marked Qatar Foundation and Georgetown University in Qatar’s long-standing relationship.
A woman of education and excellence, the Qatari royal attended the celebratory dinner hosted by the university. But, departing from her usual abaya, she instead opted for an equally unapologetic ensemble by Schiaparelli, particularly donning the Fall/Winter 2021 couture collection by creative director Daniel Roseberry.
Though this isn’t the first time she’s worn the French Maison, it is, however, her first bespoke dress since Daniel took over as the brand’s leading creative designer in 2019.
The curated look, rendered in a vibrant blue colourway, immediately caught the eyes of the region’s most discerning eyes, especially since it includes the Maison’s couture embroidered florals around the shoulder area, a signature design from the collection.
She completed the look with a silver textured clutch and a pair of coordinated blue heels.
Sheikha Moza’s Love Affair with Schiaparelli

Over the last few years, the Sheikha has made a commendable list of royal appearances across the globe wearing the French Maison.
Last year she donned a Schiaparelli haute couture fall 2015 blouse, with a chic dark royal blue satin skirt with noir heels (which she executed effortlessly).
The original design of the blouse used a more translucent and sheer fabric from the runway, but she naturally leaned towards a modest rendition instead. The sheikha opted for a white opaque fabric, but the ruffle detailing at the plackets and the button details remained the same. It also highlights her initials “MBN”.

During her stay in Kuala Lumpur in 2019, where she visited Her Excellency Dr Wan Azizah Ismail, she wore a gorgeous soft grey pleated dress from Schiaparelli’s Spring 2019 couture collection.
